Lorela Lohan & Maria Torres
Maria Torres founded MA. Art Space after eight years in Japan. MA. Art Space is a cultural and art space in Saint-Gilles where contemporary creation and traditional craftsmanship meet—offering a sanctuary for making, learning, and celebrating the handmade in all its forms.
For this exhibition, she joins forces with Lorela Lohan, founder of WanderlusTea, who seeks to build a bridge between the visual and the sensory, fostering a subtle synergy between artistic contemplation and the layered world of tea.

ABOUT THE EVENT
From 4 October to 25 October 2025, WanderlusTea & MA Art Space in Brussels invites you to discover The Art of Tea, an exhibition celebrates the timeless connection between tea rituals and artisanal ceramics.
The exhibition brings together five exceptional ceramic artists whose work reflects the aesthetic and cultural richness of tea wares. Each artist will present five carefully crafted pieces—ranging from moon jars and teapots to gaiwans and teacups—offering a diverse exploration of form, tradition, and contemporary expression. It will also feature a series of visually striking art walls, highlighting the beauty and diversity of tea ceramics from around the world.
IN THIS EXHIBITION

The Japanese tea ceremony, or chanoyu, is a centuries-old tradition that embodies harmony, respect, purity, and tranquillity. More than the act of preparing and serving matcha, it is a highly refined art form where every gesture, object, and movement carries meaning.
Rooted in Zen philosophy, the ceremony invites participants to slow down, appreciate the beauty of imperfection, and be fullypresent in the moment.
